It is very difficult to find green hickory
logs 44 inches long and then split out the blanks to form
ramrods. That is what prompted us to develop the Virtually
Indestructible Ramrod.
It is a wooden ramrod with a steel core,
which has the ramrod tips threaded on each end. One end is
normally a 8-32 thread and the other is 10-32. This allows
almost every accessory to be used on one end or the other.
Ramrod tips can be brass, steel, or German
Silver. They range in size from 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
The wood we normally use is hickory or ash,
but we can make them out of any wood you select, if available.
Your choice might result in extra cost.
We can build the ramrod to any length and
any taper required, to give you an easy to use and close
fitting ramrod.
It can be finished to any color you choose
and we will do our best to comply. It can also be left unfinished
for you to do. Final finish is one coat of Tung Oil Sealer
and then two hand rubbed coats of Tung Oil.
We
do not guarantee the ramrod as completely unbreakable but
we do warrant it against defects in material and workmanship
for our lifetime. With reasonable and correct loading procedures,
it will stand up to heavy use. The only one that has failed
